Bad Dates at Shakespeare and Company

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Haley Walker, the charismatic heroine of Theresa Rebeck’s Bad Dates, possesses a sharp wit and an unsinkable determination to pursue the promise of new love, even while providing for her daughter and running a business in a sometimes unforgiving city. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. Shakespeare & Company’s disarming and critically acclaimed comedic actress Elizabeth Aspenlieder stars in this hilarious one-hander, as part of S&Co.’s first-ever winter season.”

Shakespeare and Company, in Lenox Massachusetts, is presenting the play Bad Dates beginning January 9th and running until March 9th.  Performances will be at the new Elaine Bernstein Theater around the corner from Brook Farm Inn.

It’s Snowing In the Berkshires!

Friday, December 19th, 2008

We’re having a lovely snowfall today.  It’s beautiful, pristine, and just right for skiing –cross country or downhill — and also for snowshoeing.  At Brook Farm Inn, our favorite place to snowshoe is Pleasant Valley, a Mass Audubon wildlife refuge, with beautiful, well-marked trails.  It’s right here in Lenox, Massachusetts.   After a day outdoors, we serve tea and homemade scones in the firelit library.  Yay!
