Next weekend, starting Friday night November 13th, there’s lots to do in the Berkshires. On Friday at 8PM at the Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, see the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats, with their formidable feats of daring and balance.
On Saturday, November 14th, go to Simon’s Rock College at 8 PM to hear Chorus, doing works by the Beatles.
And on Sunday, November 15th, the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield presents the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra at 2 PM, with works by Vaughn Williams, Brahms, and Berio.
Wow! Take your pick or go to all of them — Brook Farm Inn staff will be here to welcome you.

Acclaimed food historian
Francine Segan:
The History of Chocolate & Candy
talk & tastings
plus a screening of “Like Water for Chocolate.” It’s at the Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington, Sunday, August 16th, starting at 5 PM. We’ve enjoyed Francine’s most entertaining talks, and we also love her cookbooks! Certain to be delicious!

Brook Farm Inn, in Lenox, Massachusetts, is close to the Mahaiwe Theatre, and our guests always enjoy the Paul Taylor Company. See them here on Memorial Day Weekend!
Paul Taylor Dance Company
Modern Masterpieces
by Legendary American Choreographer
Saturday May 23 / 8pm
$60 Golden Circle / $50 / $45 Members / $20 Limited Balcony
The Company returns for its annual engagement with a spectacular program of three Taylor masterworks, including Beloved Renegade, hailed by The New York Times as “the best new choreography in 2008.” The evening begins with Funny Papers, a hilarious romp with a score that includes such novelty tunes as “Popeye the Sailor Man” and “Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour (On The Bedpost Overnight).” Next, the legendary Scudorama -newly revived for the first time in almost 40 years – a “dance of death” from 1963 that The New York Observer recently called “a revelation – a blazing declaration of Taylor’s talent.” The program concludes with Beloved Renegade , inspired by the life of Walt Whitman and set to Poulenc’s stirring choral work, Gloria. Following its 2009 New York premiere, The Times called it “a work of philosophic as well as dramatic power. Certainly Beloved Renegade is one of the great achievements of Mr. Taylor’s long career and one of the most eloquently textured feats of his singular imagination.”
Summer dance in the Berkshires begins right here!
